How to calculate a percentage

X% of Y = Y × X ÷ 100. Example: 15% of 2,000 = 300.
X is what % of Y = X ÷ Y × 100. Example: 450 out of 600 marks = 75%.
X is Y% of what = X ÷ Y × 100. Example: if 300 is 15%, the full amount is 2,000.
Percentage change = (new − old) ÷ old × 100. Example: price from 800 to 1,000 is a 25% increase.
Add or remove a percentage: 2,000 + 10% = 2,200; 2,000 − 10% = 1,800.
