Payment receipt or payment voucher?

Payment receipt — you give it to a customer or tenant when you receive money. It is their proof of payment.
Payment voucher — you keep it when you pay money, for example to a worker, supplier or for shop expenses. Ask the person to sign it.

What to write on a receipt

A receipt number and the date.
Who paid, the amount in figures and in words (filled in automatically).
What the payment was for, and how it was paid — cash, cheque (with number), bank transfer, JazzCash, Easypaisa or Raast (with transaction ID).
Any balance still due, and the name and signature of the person who received it.

Good record keeping

Give a receipt for every payment, even small advances. Keep the PDFs in one folder by number, and enter them in our free Cash Book so your daily income and expenses stay up to date.
